Kindergarten students met Spookley last month. He is back again to teach students about Thanksgiving and that Family=people who love and care for each other. 1st and 2nd grades are having lessons this month focused on learning the difference between tattling and reporting. 5th grade classes are following up on our Rachel's Challenge assembly by reading the book 'One'. This is a great story about how one person can change everything with the smallest act of kindness.

Last week Rachel's Challenge visited our school for an assembly. This was an awesome program that shared with our students one act of kindness can make a huge impact in someone else's life. The program also showed us how one kind act could start a chain reaction that spread kindness to an entire school. They left Parkwood with the challenge to start a chain reaction, by being kind to others. Through out our campus you will notice paper chains have started to form. Each link represents an act of kindness. If you are on campus and witness a kind act please add a link! I encourage you to talk to your children about the impact being kind can make on others and encouraging them to start a chain reaction! Visit my website for information on monthly lessons.
Last week students at Parkwood painted their hands and made this banner for Veterans!
Mrs. Stanley and I delivered it to the local Veteran's Medical Center today! They loved it!!! An amazing assembly today, school wide from Rachel's Challenge! It only takes one person to make a difference. One kind act can start a chain reaction!
Come see me at the fall festival this Friday and you can get one of these with a buddy!
